A payroll application, taken from Angular 12 to Angular 22.

Since March 2025 we have been looking after the entire Angular frontend of a business application for digital payroll: maintenance, bug fixing and new features. Along the way we modernised the application from the ground up, working from Bursa.

The starting point

The client is a payroll outsourcing provider in Germany. Its business application has an Angular frontend.

When we took over the frontend, it was still running on Angular 12, a version that has had no updates since the end of 2022. The interface was made of hand-written components. At the same time, the application had to keep working day to day, and new features were due.

What we did

  1. Took over the frontend

We maintain the application, fix bugs and build new features. The entire Angular frontend is in our hands.

  2. From Angular 12 to 22

We brought the application up to the current Angular version step by step.

  3. UI library instead of custom-built

The interface now builds on a large, established UI library instead of hand-written one-offs that someone has to maintain.

  4. Modern Angular code

We migrated old code to today's Angular, which works with Signals.

  5. Tests introduced

Unit tests check individual building blocks, Playwright tests click through the key workflows like a person would. That way bugs show up earlier.
